Porsche has passed her Herding Instinct Certification and now will now be known as Can Ch. Duran's Huntress of Tienlung, HIC!!

Porsche was very quick to catch on to the point of the exercise and was quickly off leash and keeping the sheep together and with Shelley (the handler). She did a great job circling the sheep and keeping them together, and according to Shelley, shows great potential as a herding dog. Our hope is to work some more stock with her and hopefully get her CKC herding trial.

The experience of watching both Charlotte and Porsche have their "light bulb moment" with the stock was, with all honesty, probably the most profound experience in my dog owning life. To be able to watch an animal with no previous stock experience (neither Charlotte or Porsche had ever SEEN a sheep before, let alone got up close and personal!), have their instinct take over was amazing. My deepest thanks to Shelley Fritzke for making the evaluation such a positive one for myself and my dogs and thanks also to Louise Watson for organizing the HIC test. Louise is the owner of "George"(JEMS Culture Club HT RN CGN Am. RA) the first boxer in history to achieve a CKC herding title...if I have my way, he won't be the last!!

Porsche is a puppy out of Rhett's second litter.  When I saw these puppies at six weeks, I just couldn't let Porsche slip through my fingers.  She bears a striking resemblance to her "Uncle Jaeger" in both expression and attitude.  I love her to pieces and it feels as though a little piece of my heart has come home. She is especially precious to me.

Porche finished her Canadian championship very quickly and has attained a number of Best of Opposite Sex awards in her few shows as a special. Thank you to Tamara Coli for her wonderful handling of our girl Porsche. Porsche has also done very well in the Junior Handling ring with her good friend, Courtey.

I'm very proud of my Porsche girl and I know that her daddy, Rhett is proud of her too!
